Here are some photos of the Blue Creek Cave System in Belize, Central America. In 1994, Tom Miller, Matt Wilkin and I surveyed about 5 km of passage in this growing system. Particularly sporting passage is found in the upstream connection passage between the insurgence of the White River and the main body of the cave. You can find more discussion about Blue Creek Cave at the Jason Project WWW server.

This is the
main resurgence (downstream) entrance to Blue Creek Cave, also
known as Hokeb Ha. The entrance is about 30m wide and during the
rainy season discharges a tremendous volume of water.
This is a
poor photo taken in one of the typically large passages near the
resurgence. That's Tom Miller (in red) and another guy.
This is a
three-dimensional graphic representation of the passages in the
main portion of the cave. The resurgence is indicated as the
River Entrance on this diagram, and another higher and smaller
entrance (Cliff Entrance) is also depicted.
This is
another (expanded) view of the system where the upstream
connection passage is shown. Don't attempt to go there in the
rainy season! The upstream insurgence is named Yit Ha and
requires a series of rappels to enter, and an innertube to
traverse the many deep lakes in this section of the system. We
mapped the indicated new section in 1994, connecting the upper
entrance to the main body of the cave.
