WEISSENBORN SCHOLARSHIP FUND

	The department was very saddened to learn of the passing of Helen
Weissenborn Worthington, one of the three daughters of Al Weissenborn.
Helen was a great supporter of the Weissenborn Scholarship Fund named for
her father.  Helen and her husband, Joseph Worthington, are patrons of the
fund and have been very active in supporting the EWU Geology Department.
Many people have contributed to the Weissenborn fund as a memorial to Helen
in the past few months.

	The number of Eastern alumni that have contributed to the Weissenborn
during the past year has been phenomenal.  Approximately 70 people and
organizations contributed during the last year, and the total market value
of this endowment as of June 30 was nearly $18,000.  This provides enough
annual revenue to give a $900 tuition scholarship to the most deserving
senior in the Geology program.

	Our Weissenborn scholar this year is Deanna Clarkson, and she thanks you
very much for helping her through your donations.
