Lance Hill Observatory
 
Here's an image of the fast moving Aten asteroid 1999 KW4 (see Sky & Telescope, June 2001 issue for more info):

 
Image taken ~1:45 am (~0845 UT) on 5/26/2001 with a 10" LX200 with f/3.3 reducer and an MX5/16 camera (8 min exposure guided with S2K).  Asteroid is moving about 1 arcsecond per second (fast!) so track is about 8 arcminutes long in this exposure. Bright star south of asteroid track is TYC 435-3609-1.


Similar camera set-up as above.  Image taken ~11:00 pm local time on 5/27/2001 (~0600 UT on 5/28/01).  Exposure here is 4 minutes duration.  Bright star near asteroid track is TYC 981-591-1.
