Lance Hill Observatory

Here is a shot of M16, the Eagle Nebula (also known as the "Star Queen"), taken with the SX M-5/16 CCD camera at prime focus on a 10" SCT operating at f/3.3 (with the Optec Maxfield reducer).  This is the product of a single 30 minute-long exposure autoguided by the new STAR 2000 system (dark frame subtracted, non-linear stretch) on 31 July 2000.


It's certainly not the Hubble, but you can clearly see the intriguing pillar structures!  The famous Hubble Space Telescope image is included below.
