Uranus and Neptune are located in the constellation Capricornus during late summer 2000. Here are two wide-field views showing the two gas giants in our outer solar system. MX-5/16 camera attached to a 50 mm lens, with an IR-blocking filter. Two minute exposures.
Uranus at magnitude 5.7 at a distance of 19.1 AU from Earth.
The bright star to the lower left of the planet (indicated) is iota
Capricornus.
Neptune at magnitude 7.9 at a distance of 29.5 AU from Earth.
The bright double star at the top, just left of center, is rho Capricornus.
